The awards for the best students of architecture have been granted!
On Friday, March 24 of this year, there was a gala dinner summarizing the competition "Small architecture from clinker", organized by our company
From February 6, we collected the competition works prepared by students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology. The participants' task was to incorporate so-called elements of small architecture into already existing space – the main assumption was the use of the Röben clinker.
All participants of the competition and the jury were invited to the Wrocław restaurant "Spiż". The meeting started with the presentation of the sales director of the Röben company – a member of the jury. Andrzej Meronk thanked the guests for their participation and for submitting works, which were at a very high level. All designs were characterized by a modern approach to the topic and innovative ideas. Clinker materials presented in the works were matched to the surroundings in an aesthetic and carefully thought-out manner. The representative of the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology, Mr. Janusz Bułat, confirmed that in his speech. So, the judges faced a real challenge – the choice of the three best works proved impossible and, finally, they awarded nine participants.
Natalia Ród was chosen as the author of the best design, Marta Zaik and Adam Krzysztofiak took the second place ex aequo, and the works of Karolina Ogiołda and Magdalena Tomzik won the third place. The best work showed a remarkable combination of pearl white clinker bricks OSLO and SHWABING cobblestones in a white-cream color, which were incorporated into a backyard garden. The structure of the seating area – a grill, a smokehouse and a gazebo, was subordinated by the author to simple geometrical shapes that revived the neglected space, giving it a new quality. The pavement path leading to it, surrounded by a brick wall, harmonized with the remaining elements of the design, creating a coherent and aesthetic whole. In addition, the works of the following authors were distinguished: Radosław Grzymkowski, Martyna Wujak, Karolina Kowalczyk and a duet: Aneta Góralska and Małgorzata Kozłowska. All the winners received commemorative diplomas, cash prizes and gift bags with gadgets from the contest organizer – the Röben company.
All works will be included in a folder commemorating the first edition of the "Small architecture from clinker" competition. We are happy that the students of the Faculty of Architecture at the Wrocław University of Technology responded so positively to the competition and that it gained the recognition of the local community.
